the career kid

I am a chicago-native, pursuing my dreams in new york city. i moved here at seventeen to attend parsons the new school for design. in my second semester i landed an internship at people's revolution, where i got my first dose of the fashion world. shortly after i scored an internship in the fashion closet at teen vogue which later lead me into the art department. while interning there and dualstar pr, i managed to get my first freelance job at jack spade as a visual merchandiser. shortly after, i was fortunate enough to be part of the kate spade creative team. i am currently a part of the jack spade design team, as well as, interning for a semester at vogue. my many experiences have lead me to accomplish more than i ever thought possible at my age. i'm on my way to the career i want, and i'm so happy to share that journey with you.

red carpet roundup: SAG Awards

check out this blog post I worked on with EVA CHEN!

darlings, I had the incredible experience of being on the red carpet for the first time ever this Sunday as a guest of L’Oreal Paris. it’s hard to explain the experience—to be out-numbered by celebrities (oh, hey, Bradley Cooper! oh, hi, cast of Glee!) was definitely surreal. the main thing I learned, really, is that stars are just like us—except perfectly coiffed and maintained. ^_^

my favorite beauty trends on the red carpet—surprisingly, since I’m the most low-maintenance hair girl ever—were the lovely, lovely waves spotted in abundance (I may have tried this look myself: exhibit A). I love that the waves are deliberate, a departure from from the beachy-boho tousled looks popular in seasons past. I can say from first hair experience that the key to maintaining this look is hairspray, by the way. a lot of it.
